Listening is a lost art in modern psychotherapy. Change begins when you are heard and understood. I use simple, effective, proven techniques to lead my clients to greater insight, which leads to change. Individuals, couples, and families are my focus from adolescents through senior citizens. I help folks manage life's many stressors including but not limited to loss, grief, separation, substance abuse, and illness.
Together we will identify your particular thoughts and feelings, form a plan of action to reduce your discomfort, and monitor the effectiveness of the changes you put into practice. Sometimes people merely want to be heard, other times they want direction and coaching, other times mediation between those that are important in your life.
I treat the whole person: where they live and work, who they interact with, what they believe in, how they cope. Together we will examine all areas of your life; keeping the healthy components and replacing the ones that cause you distress. Ultimately you will be able to better manage the stress in your life.
